Gulbis shoes are hot sellers

Only one year after starting the design process, Natalie Gulbis’ signature shoes are already among the LPGA’s hottest in history.
“It’s crazy!” she said. “It gives me goosebumps. I mean, just to have a shoe and to have one person buy it is exciting and to be one of the best selling of all time is even better.”
Adidas approached arguably one of the most marketable LPGA golfers last year with an opportunity to design her own shoe.
“I think as an athlete, when you get to put your mark on a piece of apparel, especially with sports with the shoe, I was really excited,” Gulbis said.
“The best part has probably been just the response back from people who wear the shoe or even players who wear the shoe.”
Gulbis stressed three things in her shoe: comfort, fashion and functionality. She looked to popular Adidas walking shoes to mix in with her golf-performance considerations and fused them together. Sprinkle that with some fashion know-how, and the formula has been a top-selling shoe that comes in four different colors and also markets the LPGA in a new way. That’s no small feat, or in this case, “feet.”
